By now pretty much everyone has heard of or seen it but the coolest
gadget out is Apple's iPhone. This amazing mobile phone has plenty of
cool features that are both practical and awe-inspiring at the same
time. Once a person tries out the iPhone they will never be able to go
back to a regular cellphone again.
Despite all the bells and whistles the iPhone is a mobile phone and luckily is a great one at that. The touch screen interface makes it easy to scroll through contacts and with a simple click on someone's name you are instantly dialing their number. In addition to that any information such as address, email address or even their birthday is right at your fingertips. The iPhone has also changed the way that voicemail will be used as well with the amazing Visual Voicemail function. Instead of having to listen to voicemails in the order they were received the iPhone allows the user to pick and choose from a list which voicemails they want to hear and which ones they can save for later.
In addition to being a phone the iPhone incorporates full iPod functionality into its interface. When on the easy to use menu screen the user simply needs to use their finger and click on the iPod icon. Once there all the music, movies, and pictures that have been synced (a very easy process that involves simply plugging the phone into a computer with itunes on it) will be readily available.
The iPhone features do not end with iPod functionality though! The iPhone can connect to the internet either through a wi-fi connection or through the AT&T Edge network. Once again simplicity is key and the internet is a simply finger push on the Safari icon away. However the internet that the iPhone uses is not a watered down mobile phone web browser but the full-fledged Safari web browser that is standard on all of Apple's computers! With this iPhone users are able to connect to any website that they please. While some limitations do exist (such as the lack of a Flash player for videos online) having an fully capable internet ready device in the palm of your hand is simply amazing.
Other features include email access, google map support and youtube access for all the crazy videos out there. The future for the iPhone is looking awe-inspiring however with the upcoming Software Development Kit on the horizon. This SDK will allow third parties to create downloadable software for the iPhone such as games or pretty much anything that people can think of. The sky is the limit for the iPhone and the most incredible part about it is the ease at which it allows users to access all of these amazing features.
