About BIOS

BIOS is an acronym for System Basic Input / Output. Bios is the first boot the computer, and is the setting to boot the operating system. And is also responsible for some of the most fundamental parts of computer keyboard and video interfaces as well as to communicate with the NIC card and data cable, and even provide facilities to boot from the interface.

When a computer first starts, it reads the BIOS chip for instructions about what to do. Test BIOS usually perform Power On Self-Test to ensure that all the necessary hardware components attached to the computer. After the POST test, the main components (keyboard, memory systems, IDE drives) initialized. In the BIOS is usually determined (by the computer manufacturer), the location for a bootable operating system.

To configure or view from one BIOS configuration, order a special emphasis should be on at startup. There will be a message indicating that the key to press, but because it is presented to no more than three seconds (and often less than one second), this public key should try: F1, F2, DEL, ESC.

After the BIOS setup screen visible, users usually can change the boot order, set a password (for the OS or BIOS itself), changing the processor speed, and enable / disable the Num Lock key on the keyboard. Other common tasks include systems that regulate the time and date, and to set up low-level power management, like hard drives and video shutdown.

There is no danger of changing the settings. However, if it does not make changes right then there is the possibility that there will be no boot up the computer, or damage that may occur with the processor and memory
